If the donor doesn't cover the fees, their card is charged $50 and the school or team receives $45.75.
Fair Raise keeps 5%. No sales team, no offices, nobody driving to your school in a branded polo. That's most of why this isn't 20%.
Card processing is separate — Stripe charges 2.9% + 30¢ to move the money, and we pass that through at cost.
Donors can cover both. At checkout, "cover the fees" is checked by default. When it stays checked, the school or team gets every dollar the donor meant to give.
What your group actually keeps
Our figure assumes donors cover the fees, which most do — the checkbox is on by default. If nobody covered them you'd keep about $9,100. Comparisons are the rates those companies publish or that schools commonly report.
- Our whole fee is 5% — shown in real dollars above, before you sign up for anything. Not a number you find out after signing a contract.
- Your money never passes through us. Donations go straight to your own account. We couldn't hold your funds if we wanted to.
- Donors see exactly who gets paid. Every page names the verified recipient — your PTA, your league, your booster club — and checks nonprofits against the IRS list.
- Refund a donor and we refund our fee. Automatically, in proportion. We don't profit from a gift you gave back.
- We never ask your families for contact lists. No harvesting phone numbers from kids, no auto-texting their relatives.
- Nothing to pay up front, ever. No setup fee, no subscription, no minimum, and no penalty for missing your goal. Raise nothing, pay nothing.
